question about visitors on camping trip ...

question about visitors on camping trip ...

Postby pathawkins on Thu Jan 17, 2008 8:25 pm

I know that when we invite Webelos to attend our Boy Scout camping trips, we are required to have at least one of their parents come, too. My son, high school age, has a friend who is a Life Scout in another troop, and has visited at one of our troop meetings. Other than our standard emergency contact/ permission slip, would we need anything else in order for him to join us on a camping trip? I don't think he has intentions of joining our troop, but the troop he is with doesn't camp as frequently as we do and he likes camping.

As long as he is a Boy Scout registered in the Central New Jersey Council, there is no problem with him camping with your troop. If he is from outside of the council, you will want to get medical insurance information from him. All Scouts from within the council are already covered by our council policy.
